Christmas card

Foxy Christmas cards

I made the foxes using card and markers, I made the image simple as it was made to be aimed at children. I enjoy drawing foxes, they have a sneaky yet elegant feel to them.

Paper experiments

Here are a fer experiment I did for either projects or just me playing around.

Personal:
This is an paper cut I made that was originally a greetings card design. Though in the end I found I wanted to try something more colourful and although the soliloquies works well I proffer an image with colour because it catches the eye and is more aimed at my audience, children's cards.

Work related:
This is a pull tab experiment I made for my beauty and the beast project. I thought it worked well and was aimed at children but I did find it was a bit creepy for children.

Here I tried to use tracing paper to create a more dark atmosphere but I used to may layer of it making it had to make the background image out. Next time I do this I will make sure not to use more than one layer.

Colour experiments

As part of my children's books project we are experimenting with colour.
This experiment is using warm and cold colours, we had to recreate the same image to see if it had any affect on the image itself. I found creating the cold version much more difficult as I tend to use more of a warmer colour pallet in my work but I think they both worked out.

Beauty and the beast

This is from a project I did for university, I chose to do the original story of beauty and the beast and not the Disney version as I feel the original gets over looked due to the major popularity to the Disney version.
To create these pieces I used paper and makers. These are photos I took of my work, they are not the best quality but I am proud of how they turned out.

Panel 1
'She put on one of her richest suits to please him'
Panel 2
''she waited for evening with the utmost impatience, at last the wished-for hour came, the clock struck nine, yet no Beast appeared'

Panel 3
'"No, dear Beast," said Beauty, "you must not die'

Panel 4
'Beauty scarce had pronounced these words, when she saw the palace sparkle with light; and fireworks, instruments of music, everything seemed to give notice of some great event. But nothing could fix her attention; she turned to her dear Beast, for whom she trembled with fear'

Panel 5
'Beast was disappeared, and she saw, at her feet, one of the loveliest princes that eye ever beheld; who returned her thanks for having put an end to the charm, under which he had so long resembled a Beast. Though this prince was worthy of all her attention, she could not forbear asking where Beast was'
